Case Study

Lakethorne group were awarded the cleaning contract through competitive tender in March 2020, during the initial sales visits Lakethorne estimating team established that the school were procuring too many cleaning hours per week, the team also identified that no detailed specification existed for their current cleaning solution and that cleaning standards were extremely poor.

Lakethornes solution was to reduce the weekly cleaning hours, by 5 hours and conduct a skills gap analysis on each member of the TUPE transferring incumbent team. The results from our analysis allowed us to identify the individual training needs of each new team member focussing on new core craft cleaning skills.

After a structured mobilisation which included retraining and coaching of the existing team, Jhonny Lozada, Lakethornes Area Manager, was in a position to reduce the weekly cleaning hours and implement the efficiencies and savings identified during the tender process. Jhonny remains focused in adding value to Frithwood Primary school and is working closely with the school business manager on other service lines that can be incorporated into the Lakethorne cleaning solution
