King Alfred School is an informal independent day school situated on the edge of Hampstead Heath in London. With 650 students from Reception age through Sixth Form.
Lakethorne provide daily cleaning services in the form of 17 operatives on a Monday and 16 operatives from Tuesday to Friday plus one non working supervisor. Lakethorne also provide deep cleans and periodic cleaning including window cleaning throughout the year.
Case Study
Lakethorne successfully tendered for the cleaning and support services at The King Alfred School in 2004. At that time the School were experiencing a variety of problems with their existing cleaning contractors which resulted in them not receiving the service they expected. In particular, there was a lack of supervision which led to cleaners not working the required number of hours and ineffective cleaning taking place. The cleaning staff on site were poorly managed and had little or no support.
On winning the contract, the priority for Lakethorne was the integration of the outgoing contractor’s staff. With their history of being poorly managed, Lakethorne wanted to immediately demonstrate to these staff the level of support that was standard for their new employer. In addition, Lakethorne needed to quickly prove to the client that the specification and standard they expected was attainable with the right level of staffing and hours.
